Whether you’re here because you’re tired of designing for yourself, you can’t keep up with your website, or you’re looking to grow your business, you’re in the right place! This informational welcome packet is going to let you in on everything there is to know about building your best brand, including the process, pricing details, what the package covers, and how we can best work together to keep things smooth for me and for you.
At the end you’ll find a link to my online project planner in which I’ll ask you a few easy questions about your biz and brand plans. It’s just as important for me to know about you and what you do as it is for you to know about me and what I do so that together we can build a brand and website that truly represents your biz to its fullest potential. I’m so excited that you’re here, and I can’t wait to hear all about your business!
Build Your Best Brand with Squarespace is a 5 week 1-1 design process. It includes:
- A project planner questionnaire.
- An introductory brand vision Skype call.
- A collaborative inspiration board and a finalized mood board.
- A fully custom designed logo
- A brand board, inclusive of any alternate logos, fonts, colors, patterns, illustrations and other brand elements.
- Up to 3 collateral pieces for your brand. You may choose from items such as blog image templates, price guides, letterheads, thank you cards, business cards, content upgrade templates and more.
- A beautiful, fully functional Squarespace website inclusive of your home, blog, about and contact pages, plus an additional 3 pages of your choosing (sales pages, landing pages, shop pages etc). If any additional or custom work outside of the aforementioned (eg. more collateral pieces, more site pages, etc) is required for your project, let me know and I can provide a personalized quote!
I’ve custom designed the 5 Week Build Your Best Brand with Squarespace process to run as smoothly as possible for both me and you. In order for it to work, both of us need to invest energy into the project. The speed of the process is heavily dependent on how quickly you respond to the small tasks on your end, so to ensure a fast turnaround, we gotta work together!
STEP ONE: The good news is, you’re already doing step one by reading this welcome page! When you get to the end of this section, you’ll fill out a form telling me all about your biz.
STEP TWO: Once you fill out the form, you’ll be given the option to schedule a meeting with me over Skype. Pick a time that works for you and I’ll meet you there to discuss your project.
STEP THREE: Once we’ve talked over your project and decided that we fit well together, I’ll send you a contract outlining our project and responsibilities. You’ll sign it, then I’ll sign it.
STEP FOUR: After we’ve both signed the contract, you’ll put down a payment of 33% ($700 + WA state tax) to secure your spot in my design queue. I’ll notify you of our start date and set up a custom client portal just for you!
STEP FIVE: In the lead up to our start date I’ll send you through all of your client homework (trust me, it’s fun!) and access to our shared dropbox folder so we we can hit the ground running when we start your project!
STEP SIX: On our start date, you’ll hand over your client homework and based off your work I’ll build a mood board for your brand. This includes images and colors that inspire you and your brand.
STEP SEVEN: Once you approve the mood board, I’ll start drafting your logo design. We’ll make any final changes in 2 rounds of revisions.
STEP EIGHT: When your logo is complete, I’ll start working on your brand board. This includes any alternate logos, fonts, colors, patterns, illustrations and other brand elements. I’ll put all of this into a one page document for your future reference (x2 revisions).
STEP NINE: When your brand is finalized, I’ll start working on up to 3 collateral pieces for your brand. You may choose from items such as blog image templates, price guides, letterheads, thank you cards, business cards, content upgrade templates and more. If you’re after something specific and I haven’t listed it, just let me know! (x1 revision per piece).
Once your brand (logo, brand board elements and collateral) has been finalized, you have the option of paying half of the remainder of your payment ($1050). If you choose not to do so, you’ll pay the $700 to move onto the website design portion of our project.
STEP TEN: Once all of your branding and collateral is done and done, we’ll get to work on your Squarespace website! I’ll build your home, blog, about and contact pages, plus an additional 3 pages of your choosing (sales pages, landing pages, shop pages etc). Each page gets one revision.
STEP ELEVEN: Step 11 is the big handover - I’ll invoice you for the remainder of your payment, and once it comes through, I’ll hand over everything to you, + we’ll jump on another call where I’ll touch base and see what I can teach you how to use everything we’ve created!
When you’ve approved the final look of your website and I’ve handed it over to you, it’s time to celebrate! I’ll post your brand new design on my blog and social medias to spread the word about your biz’s new look! Hooray!
All payments must be made before the handover of any finished product designs. There are two payment options for this package:
- Down payment of 33% ($700+WA state tax) at the signing of contracts to secure your place in my design queue
- Second installment payment of $700 + tax at the completion of your brand (logo, brand board and collateral material) and before the start of your Squarespace website.
- Final payment of $700 + tax at the completion of your Squarespace website
- Down payment of 50% ($1050 + tax) at the signing of contracts to secure your place in my design queue
- Final payment of $1050 + tax at the completion of your Squarespace website.
Due to the nature of design work, I cannot offer payment plans unless there are extenuating circumstances. Handing over my work to you before you’ve paid could mean that you walk away with your awesome design and don’t pay me for it. You seem cool, and I’m sure you wouldn’t dream of doing that because it’s a crappy thing to do, but I gotta look after me and you both! If a payment plan is something that you really need, let me know and I’ll assess your situation. Even though being an online business owner means my office is usually in my living room, and that I can work with people all over the world, I still gotta have some virtual office policies to keep things running smoothly.

Q. WHAT IF I (THE CLIENT) MISS A DEADLINE?
A. This whole process works because we both have strict deadlines. If you can’t dedicate time to the project, you aren’t a good fit. That said, if it should work, but you can’t keep up your end of the agreement for any reason, additional billing at the discounted rate of $30/hour starts after the end date passes.
Q. WHY DOES IT HAVE TO BE DONE WITH AN END DATE?
A. This ensures mutual focus, momentum and quick decisions so we can move on to the next step in the process. Plus, it’s fun!
Q. WHAT IS A ROUND OF REVISIONS?
A. One round of revisions means that you create a single list of all the changes you’d like to see in the current mockup. Because this work is done on a timeline, it’s important to sum up all your thoughts and changes in a single place (one call or one email), and hand those over in a timely fashion.
Q. WHAT DO I NEED TO PROVIDE BEFORE THE PROJECT STARTS?
A. I’ll give you a list of what I will need if we proceed. For Brand Build out, it is helpful to start to notice what drives the purchases you make yourself. How do you notice other brands and how the interact with their audiences? Having a space to gather visual inspiration (Pinterest is great!) is important too. For Web Design, we get more technical. I will need access to your: domain registrar login info, hosting login info, mailing list access, Google Analytics access. You also need to have polished content and edited photography*. Most important: Enough time set aside to take this project to the finish line.
*I am happy to recommend a number of talented photographers, dependent on your vocation & location.
Q. HOW DO YOU DETERMINE WHO YOU WORK WITH?
A. It’s a science and a gut thing. I only take on projects and clients when I feel strongly that I can help, based on my past experience, available data, and the project goals. But, I also listen to my instincts and don’t take on any project that doesn’t feel right. It’s better for both of us that way.
I work Monday to Thursday, and I don’t respond to client emails over the weekend (I do check them though, so if there’s some kind of emergency I got you covered). My office hours (aka, times you can email me and I’ll actually reply) are flexible, so I try to make myself available. I’ll always get back to you ASAP.

Building your best brand is a collaborative effort between the two of us. I don’t like ‘rules’ so I don’t set many, but for both of our sanity, all I ask is that we both try to get stuff done within a reasonable time frame. This includes things like responding to emails and sending payments. I’ll get back to you quickly if you do too. It’s that simple!
